«Skill upgrading and retraining programmes for workers in all branches of the economy with emphasis on digital and green skills»

The Program is aimed exclusively at employees who are interested in upgrading their skills. An essential objective is training according to the skills requested by the labor market, with the ultimate aim of improving both the terms of employability of the beneficiary – workers, as well as the preservation of their jobs.

A wide range of options are offered in modern high-demand training subjects: Unlike programs promoted to date, which have basically had a more «traditional » character, beneficiaries will be able to choose between a multitude of training programs in high-demand industries, with an emphasis on digital and «green » skills, including programs of large IT companies in high demand in the labor market.

Action includes
80-hour training for 150,000 workers over the age of 18, leading to the acquisition of digital and «green» knowledge and skills

Implementation Method

Each trainee will attend a theoretical Training program concerning the development of digital and «green» knowledge, abilities and skills, with a total duration of 80 hours. The implementation of the continuing training programs will be carried out with 12 hours of live training and with the method of distance education (teletraining), which will include at least 48 hours of modern distance education and up to 20 hours of asynchronous distance education. The daily duration of life-long education and modern distance education cannot exceed four (4) hours. The end time of life-long education and modern distance education should not exceed 22:00. Live training and modern distance learning is not allowed on Sundays, as well as public holidays.

Each beneficiary who successfully completes the program will receive an educational allowance of 400€.

The selection of the beneficiaries in the context of the relevant invitation will be done in order of priority submission of the application, as long as the individual conditions for participating in the training program they will choose (such as educational level, knowledge of a foreign language, where required, etc.) are met and until the offered positions are exhausted.

Beneficiary obligations
The beneficiary is obliged to continuously attend the training program with the required diligence and participate in the certification exams. The permitted absence limit of the beneficiaries during the total duration of the training program amounts to 10% of the total duration of live and distance modern training.

According to an exception, the permitted limit of absenteeism amounts to 20% of the total duration of living and distance modern training exclusively if:

The above certificate or opinion is obliged by the beneficiary to provide directly to the training provider.
– is going through a period of pregnancy or puerperium, during the implementation of the program. In this case, the beneficiary is obliged to immediately provide the training provider with a relevant certificate from the hospital or the competent doctor with which it is recommended to remain bedridden.

In the case of asynchronous tele-training, the certificate of completion of the distinct sub-modules/modules is required as derived and confirmed by the Integrated Tele-Training System (OSTK). In the event that the beneficiary exceeds the permitted absence limit or stops training (the interruption concerns health/force majeure or non-force majeure reasons), no remuneration is paid to the Provider, the beneficiary is not entitled to an allowance and is deleted from the Beneficiary Register. The Provider informs the DYPA accordingly.
