Basic Private Security Staff Training Program

The Center for Lifelong Learning (K.D.V.M.) European Development, in collaboration with the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), organizes training programs for people who wish to work as private security personnel (Security). KEMEA is a body supervised by the Ministry of Citizen Protection and is the pre-eminent scientific, research and advisory state body for Security issues. According to the updated regulatory framework (F.E.K. B’ 4491/25-08-2022), persons wishing to obtain a Security work permit must 1) attend a training program of 105 teaching hours, and receive the relevant Certificate of Training and 2) successfully participate in the Security certification exams of KEMEA and receive a Certificate of Proficiency of the specialty “Private Security Staff”.

TO WHOM IT IS ADDRESSED

The training programme is aimed at employees or future employees in the private security industry (Security). Graduates of at least compulsory education (High School) who are Greek citizens, Greek expatriates or citizens of a – member country of the European Union and are over 18 years old can participate in the training program. The work permit is issued at the request of the person concerned to the Greek Police in accordance with the conditions and criteria listed in: http://www.astynomia.gr/index.php?option=ozo_content&perform=view&id=54021&Itemid=646&lang.

The basic specifications of the training programs are as follows:

Each training programme has a duration of 105 teaching hours (18 courses).
Classes are done remotely live through a friendly e-learning platform.
The curriculum is approved by KEMEA and derives from the professional outline of the specialty entitled “Private Security Personnel”, as approved and published by EOPPEP.
All questions of the theoretical and practical part of the examinations (topic bank) required for successful participation in the certification examinations are fully covered.
The trainers are certified adult trainers by the Professional Organization for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP). The training team consists of Police Officers, Lawyers, Firefighters, Psychologists and Nurses. They have rich professional and teaching experience in the subjects they teach.
A strict order of priority is observed in registrations because seats are limited.
After the seminar, all participants receive a Certificate of Training.
