Certificate of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs

Procedure for granting a certificate of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs by the K.D.V.M. examination center. EUROPEAN DEVELOPMENT.

Professional users of agricultural drugs are required to hold a certificate of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs in the matters of Annex B of Law 4036/2012 in order to be able to procure plant protection products approved for professional use.

Possession of one of the following degrees takes the place of a certificate of knowledge of the rational use of agricultural drugs of indefinite validity:

Agronomist of the Higher Educational Institution (HEI)
Department of Plant Production
Department of Agricultural Farm Management of the School of Agricultural Technology
Department of Greenhouse Crops and Floriculture of the School of Agriculture of Technological Educational Institutions (TEI) of an equal degree or diploma of corresponding specialties from schools of an EU member state or non-EU countries

Certificates of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs are granted after examinations carried out at the examination center through a special electronic application and in accordance with the regulation of examinations for the granting of a certificate of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs, which is drawn up by the SEA and posted on the website of the CAAAT. To carry out the exams, the SEA creates and updates the database with multiple choice questions, of which only one is correct.

According to article 20, paragraphs 2 and 4 of Law 4036/2012 (A’8), from November 26, 2015 the sale of agricultural drugs approved for professional use is limited to persons who have a certificate of knowledge of the rational use of agricultural drugs.

Interested parties are invited to answer forty (40) questions, randomly selected from the database. The granting of the certificate requires the correct answer to at least twenty-eight (28) questions.

After the examination is completed, the interested parties are immediately informed of the number of questions they answered correctly and whether or not the certificate is granted.

Validity and renewal of the certificate

The validity of the certificates of knowledge of rational use of agricultural drugs is seven (7) years and starts from the date of their issuance, according to the decision no. 9269/246316/21-09-2020.

Those interested may, before the expiry of the validity of their certificates, be examined to renew their validity for an additional seven (7) years.

The cost of the seminar amounts to fifty euros (50€).

The Price includes:

Educational material.
Possibility of unlimited computer simulation on the material to be examined.
Ministry fee.
Participation in the exams for granting the certificate.

*When conducting the exams, those interested must have with them a police ID or any other official document proving their identity (police ID or passport or driver’s license, etc.).
